“The True Cost”: a documentary about the effects of fast fashion

Documentaries are powerful things. People already know the price we pay for cheap clothing, theoretically anyways; when this documentary gets released May 29th, hopefully it will be a call to action.

A shift in consciousness has to happen; we have to start seeing our stuff differently.

I’m also guilty of buying cheap clothing, especially in exploring gender expression, but I’m really starting to feel like shit about it…

  1. Trailer looks compelling. There is a very well done documentary called “Life and Debt” by Stephanie Black that came out in 2001- it is about garment workers in Jamaica, and I remember seeing it and thinking about the consequences of buying cheap.
